As Chairman of ShuInc., the most important part of the mission is to bring awareness to peer pressure and environmental manipulation. Most of my bad decisions stemmed from me trying to be “down” with my peers, being tough, while trying to make a name for myself with the wrong crowds. This was also followed by me being too weak to exercise my right to say “NO”. I was a pawn in the game, nothing more than a piece on the table, used like a tool, baited by greed, fame, and recognition. After I was all used up, I was sitting in a cell facing the United States Federal Death penalty with nothing to show for it. Today, unfortunately, I still utilize a cell as my temporary living arrangements. Sadly, I spent a great amount of my youth and almost my entire adult hood in prison. This caused me to miss the birth of my only child, watching her grow into an amazing woman without me being present. I also watched my mom grow elderly and sick without me being able to help. I lost loved ones that I couldn’t bury, made enemies that I didn’t ask for, and spent a lot of time defending a name I secretly despised. This, is what I don’t want for the kids of our tomorrow. This program is raw, gritty, owned, and operated by ex-cons! None of us are perfect, but we care about our youth and want to create a fair opportunity in this world for them. The things I’ve witnessed and experienced, I want for no child coming up in today’s time. With that, it will take time to get the word out and to reach your children, but your child is in safer hands with ShuInc than the hands of the streets.
